According to Tibetan tradition, some days of the year are more and some are less auspicious. We also commemorate various anniversaries of our lamas. Traditionally, you can keep track of these days in our calendar or diary, but we can't fit in the details of these events, so we will bring them to you here.
Lamas in Nala and KKPL
NALA Foundation and KKPL Foundation are under the patronage of H.S. 17th Karmapa Trinley Thai Dorje and Sherab Gylatsen Rinpoche. We are extremely grateful to have such a rare opportunity to administer the endowment funds with the support of these distinguished lamas who, by their example, show and remind us that our vision and goals are indeed meaningful.
H.H. 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaje Dorje
"In all our tasks, we must accept that life is ever changing and fragile. We must accept the conditions and meet our responsibilities not by putting more pressure on ourselves, but by accepting reality as it is and trying to live one moment at a time."
From his childhood in Tibet to his life as a Buddhist leader traveling around the world. From traditional texts to social media. The life story of Thaye Dorje, J.S. 17 Gyalwa Karmapa's work spans from East to West, just as his activism connects traditional values and modern issues.
Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche
Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche was one of the most famous Buddhist teachers. His teaching style was both easy to understand and profound. His explanations were infused with warm humor, stories and practical advices. Several years ago, Rinpoche established two Buddhist monasteries and a retreat meditation center in Pharping. Almost all his life he has been caring for orphans and children from poor families. He has published many texts and under his guidance many stupas (traditional Buddhist buildings) have been built which now stand in Nepal and Europe. He was one of the few Buddhist teachers to hold the title of "Maniwa", awarded to masters of the practice of the Buddha Loving Eyes who have inspired beings to recite at least one billion OM MANI PEME HUNG mantras. Along with the 17th Karmapa, he is still the spiritual authority of the NALA Foundation and the newly formed KKPL Foundation.
