Lhabab Düchen - an event commemorating the descent of Shakyamuni Buddha from Tushita heaven. Here, every great Bodhisattva, whose merit and spiritual power have fully matured, is gradually preparing for his next birth in the human world, where he is to fulfill his mission and become fully the Awakened One, the Buddha, the Great Teacher of the next age.
Seven years after attaining full Enlightenment, Buddha Shakyamuni set out to impart the Dharma/teachings to his parents. His mother, Queen Mahamaya (otherwise known as Maya Devi) died seven days after his birth. If he wanted to repay her for his human birth with this supreme gift, he had to visit her in her new life, in Tushita realm.
For three lunar cycles the Buddha thus taught that being who was his earthly mother, and with the many assembled deities, the celestials of that happy sphere, listened.
After three months, he listened to the wishes and pleas of his earthly disciples, again said goodbye to the Tushita empire and returned to the people on Earth.
