We cordially invite you to the
ONLINE TRADITIONAL TIBETAN MEDICINE COURSE
on the topic of
MATERIA MEDICA AND HERBAL PHARMACOLOGY
Discover the profound laws of human health and the hidden power of nature during this three-day seminar on Sowa Rigpa, Traditional Tibetan Medicine.
In Traditional Tibetan Medicine, Materia Medica and pharmacology represent a complex science of identifying, collecting, processing, and understanding the energetic effects of natural remedies. This science, which encompasses knowledge of plants, minerals, and animal products, is described in detail in the foundational canonical text of Tibetan medicine known as the Gyud Zhi (The Four Tantras), specifically within its third part (The Instructional Tantra).
Unlike modern science, Tibetan pharmacology does not study remedies through isolated chemical compounds. Instead, it views the forces of nature holistically—through a system of the five elements, tastes, and post-digestive effects.
What will we explore together?
Who is this block for?
This training block is an integral part of the comprehensive two-year curriculum of External Therapies in Tibetan Medicine according to the Sowa Rigpa tradition. However, the seminar is fully open to the general public. It is ideal for anyone fascinated by a holistic approach to human health.
The course will be led by the renowned and experienced instructor DONLA TSERING, who will share her profound knowledge with you over three intensive days.
Donla Tsering was born into a Tibetan family in India and was placed under the care of the famous Tibetan scholar and astrologer Ngawang Dakpa at an early age. After completing high school in Delhi, she moved to Italy. There, in 2002, she became a student of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, studying Ku Nye Tibetan massage, Mantra Healing, Sa Che, and Yuthok Nyingthig. In 2007, she traveled to Tibet to study Tibetan medicine directly at a hospital in Amdo.
Donla is a recognized master of Ku Nye Tibetan massage and Tibetan Mantra Healing. She speaks five languages and has translated many Buddhist texts into Italian and English. She currently lives in Rome, works as a Ku Nye therapist, and teaches and leads meditation retreats worldwide as a senior instructor for Sorig Khang International.
